Affiliate questions
Q. How much commission can I earn?
A. Regards of whether you refer one person to our one-star plan for just one month, or fifty people to our five-star plan for five years, you'll receive 20% of their hosting bill every month for as long as they stay with Rubyjam.
Q. How often can I expect to receive a payment?
A. When your affiliate account reaches $A100, our bean counters will release the funds to you. All payments to Rubyjam affiliates are transferred on the last business day of each month. You can check your account balance at any time by logging into your affiliate account.
Q. My account balance decreased, how did this happen?
A. This will happen when a payment is declined or found to be fraudulent. When a payment for the hosting plan is successfully processed, and has passed the required waiting time (as part of our anti-fraud measures) then the commission for that plan will appear in your account.
Q. Is it ok if I send a lot of emails with my affiliate link in the signature? What about if I include it with my replies to threads on internet forums?
A. We encourage our affiliates to tell their friends via email or forum threads, however we do not encourage or condone spamming, infact this is a sure fire way of getting having your affiliate account frozen. Funds within frozen accounts will be forfeited - this is not negotiable!

Sub-domains
Q. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE SETTING UP A SUBDOMAIN!
A. To create a sub-domain cpanel asks for the name you wish to use. You must ensure that you do not already have a folder with the same name as the desired sub-domain. If you do, the sub-domain will not work! For example: I want to create the sub-domain test.rubyjam.net so my sub-domain name is going to be 'test'. If I already have a folder in my FTP named 'test' I will need to delete it or rename it before attempting to create the sub-domain.
Q. What is a sub-domain?
A. www.domain.com is an example of a domain name. A sub-domain is anything that replaces the www in a domain name.
forum.aol.com is a sub-domain.

Addon Domains
Q. What is an addon domain?
A. An addon domain is a fully functional domain that will work out of a folder in your main website's FTP.
Q. READ THIS BEFORE SETTING UP AN ADDON DOMAIN!
You cannot create an addon domain if your DNS hasn't proprograted to the server already. You will need to wait 24-48 hours from changing the DNS before attempting to create your addon domain.
A. There are three fields cpanel asks for when creating an addon domain.
1. "New Domain Name:" You will put in the newdomain.com - do not put www in the name!
2. "Username/directory/subdomain Name:" This will be the folder cpanel creates in your main accounts FTP. Please make sure that the name you give it doesn't already have a folder.
3. "Password:" fill in any password you want here.
Q. Help! I just created an addon domain - why did it say sub-domain added?
A. It creates the addon as a subdomain by creating the folder within your main sites FTP. Just ignore this, it is a fully functional domain name.
